Courtesy Chevrolet Rolls Out "Red Carpet" for Veterans

General Manager, Scott Gruwell (L) and Arizona Department of Veterans Services Director, Col. Joey Strickland discuss how to put our brave men and women to work in the "Forward March" jobs Program at Courtesy Chevrolet.

President Obama put it best: "We're saying to our veterans: You fought for us, and now we're fighting for you."

Our men and women in uniform have put their lives on the line for America -- and too many are having a hard time finding jobs when they come home. It's disheartening, but it can be fixed.

President Obama is advancing a major initiative to help veterans get back to work, challenging the private sector to hire or train 100,000 veterans and veterans' spouses by the end of 2013. He's working with Congress and the administration in the coming months to create tax incentives for businesses to hire veterans and to improve programs that help them make the transition from military to civilian life.

You probably know someone who is a veteran, or you might be one yourself. You know how important this is. Let's make sure that everyone who cares about our veterans knows, too.

Watch President Obama's announcement, then share this news with five of your friends:

The veterans you and I know learned a lot from their time serving America, and that experience can strengthen our nation and our economy -- but only if they can find jobs. Those who have served should have opportunities when they come back to the country they've worked so hard to defend.
